Project A5Distributional Idiosyncrasies
CoDII-NPI.ro is a collection of Romanian Negative Polarity Items (NPIs) and can be used as a flexible starting point for further research. Since we were not aware of any specific collection of Romanian NPIs or linguistic work in this area, CoDII-NPI.ro contains the Romanian NPIs which the author considered to correspond to the English, German and Dutch examples given in the linguistic literature. For each item, we give syntactic information about the item itself and the licensing environment in which it occurs. In addition, we propose a classification according to the contexts in which they are licensed. For each entry, we added examples which were extracted from the following sources: Romanian electronic corpora based on the novels "Treasure Island" ("Insula comorilor" - Robert Louis Stevenson, Translator: Alexandru Cosmescu, Editura Litera International, colectia Biblioteca Scolarului (serie noua), 2002, Bucharest.) and "1984" ("O mie noua sute optzeci si patru" - George Orwell, Translator: Mihnea Gafita, Editura Univers, 1991, Bucharest.), developed by Rada Mihalcea (R.M.) and at the Romanian Academy Center for Artificial Intelligence (RACAI); Google; personal examples of Gianina Iordachioaia (G.I.).
