Workshop: Investigations of Negation, Negative Polar Questions, and Negative Dependencies in German and Korean

Workshop description

This workshop is organized as first event in a networking  project in collaboration with the Kyung Hee University (Seoul, Korea). The aim  is to explore various negation-related phenomena such as negative polar questions, negative dependencies, and negative concord  in German and Korean (primarily), as well as to identify common patterns and structures in the use of negation in these two languages. A central point is also the study of the implications of Large Language Models (LLM) for the investigations of negation.

The workshop offers  researchers the opportunity  to present their findings and studies and share knowledge between the two countries. Therefore, there will be contributions by professors, researchers and Phd students from both Korea and Germany.

The workshop is open for students, Phd students, researchers and anyone who is interested.
