Sascha presented a poster on “Syntactically Flexible VP-Idioms and the N-after-N Construction”. The poster is about how morphosyntactically flexible VP-idioms, like pull strings, and the so-called N-after-N construction, as in car after car, can combine to result in idiomatic VPs like pull string after string. At a workshop on grammar development in Zichron Ya’akov in the second half of June Janina Radó and Frank Richter gave two talks. Janina reported on ongoing experimental work on complex sluicing and focus. Frank discussed some aspects of a paper with Michael Hahn on using Henkin semantics for automatic reasoning with natural language.
